Who is Certification For?

Purpose in the Pain Cohort Coaches

Women who are ready to share their gifts of encouragement, shepherding, and serving with other women through Purpose in the Pain Cohorts.

Church & Ministry Leaders

Leaders within churches and ministries who are interested in implementing Purpose in the Pain into their communities.

It’s not about having all the answers —
it’s about learning how to walk with women well

As a certified Purpose in the Pain Facilitator, you will:

  • Grow in Spirit-led leadership rooted in compassion, wisdom, and biblical truth.

  • Build skills in Christ-centered, trauma-awareness coaching & facilitation.

  • Experience greater confidence and clarity in how to support women through pain, healing, and spiritual growth.

  • Receive access to structured curriculum, tools, and coaching/facilitation resources.

  • If you plan to serve as a Purpose in the Pain Cohort Coach or implement Purpose in the Pain within your church or ministry, yes, certification is required.

    The certification process helps ensure that every participant experiences the program within a safe, Christ-centered, and trauma-informed environment. It equips coaches and leaders with the understanding, facilitation skills, and program framework needed to steward the Purpose in the Pain experience.

  • Submit the ‘Apply to Become a Certified Purpose in the Pain Facilitator’ application found in the section above.

    Once your application is received, you will receive information about upcoming certification opportunities, program requirements, and next steps.

    Whether you feel called to coach women through the cohort experience or bring Purpose in the Pain to your church or ministry, we are honored to explore that journey with you.

  • Certification is designed to be completed over the course of 4 weeks.

    Certification is completed virtually.

    The process includes guided learning, program review, facilitation training, and opportunities to engage with the Purpose in the Pain framework before certification is granted.

    Our goal is not simply to transfer information, but to prepare leaders and coaches to steward this work with compassionate alignment.

  • Yes.

    Cohort Coach Certification: $500

    Church and Ministry Certification: $1,200

  • No.

    While many coaches and ministry leaders have personal experiences that inspire their desire to serve, certification does not require participants to share details of their personal story.

    The focus of certification is learning how to create a safe, Christ-centered environment where women can encounter Jesus and engage with the Purpose in the Pain framework.

  • No.

    Purpose in the Pain coaches and certified leaders are not expected to function as therapists or counselors.

    The role of a coach is to facilitate reflection, create a safe and supportive environment, and gently guide conversation while remaining attentive to what God may be doing in participants' hearts.

    Purpose in the Pain is a faith-based cohort experience and is not intended to replace professional counseling or mental health services.
